In Marketing, Timing is Everything
By: Laurie | April 6th, 2009
The excellent GoSounders blog has a post up today that talks about new Sounders gear we can all purchase.
In addition to the standards (including the “I voted Sounders” shirt), we have a new arrival, at left: The “I Scored with Freddie” T-shirt.
(Women’s cut only. Sorry, guys.)
With the allegations currently floating around, I’m not sure I’d be wearing that particular shirt this week.
Just sayin’.
But it could be much worse. At least it’s not “I scored with Fredy.”

Lets not tar all Freds with the same brush!
Freddie has done absolutely nothing.
Fredy has been accused, but is innocent until proven otherwise.I think I may just buy one!

No reason not to buy one. It plainly says ‘Freddie’ #10. We all know it’s Freddie Ljungberg! Suppose those who aren’t as familar with the team might be confursed and make a comment. But until I hear that our other Fredy (Montero) has been found guilty… I’d consider buying one with his name too.

And Portland Timbers fans will be marketing a shirt reading, “I Scored With Fredy. Charges Pending” in five…four…three…

Lord, I probably shouldn’t give them ideas.

Oh, also, didn’t mean to cast aspersions on anyone, especially the other Freddie. Just sayin’ that this is probably not the best week to imply anything about any player.

There will be one with Fredy too as it should. Fredy’s innocent.
