He was in a dangerous position with his head down, himself exposed, and he came up swinging. I know from your vantage (Loser) you could not have seen what went down, because the Jaqua goal/offside was at the other end. From our end we saw one guy get attacked and defend himself.

Please explain assault as a class above, but self defense as classless?

also, there’s a difference between a company owning stakes in a number of teams in a league to help build the league, and one person owning multiple teams. personally, i suspect that paul allen is a big reason why the rose quarter was shot down as a potential site for the beavers.

I’m quite willing to bet you couldn’t explain to me or anyone what it means to be offsides without looking at the Laws of the Game.

Isn’t it a shame that so many people from down south can’t comprehend humor/irony.

Since I apparently didn’t make myself clear the first time (although surprisingly, most of the Seattle fans seem to have gotten it), my point was that this rivalry will be so good for soccer in the northwest that it would almost make sense for Paul Allen to make it possible to continue it, even at the expense of a “conflict of interest.”

-nyassi. he goes down and doesn’t move for as long as he did, couldn’t move himself off the pitch, yet he’s capable of walking it off no problem and going back into the match after the ref doesn’t buy his charade. no, there’s nothing wrong with that at all.
-drunk fan arrested. he was being taunted? they tried to steal his scarf? and this is justification to start throwing punches. fact is, your own fans were caught making the same threats on your own message board. if you can’t deal with being taunted at an away match, tighten your huggies and stay home.
-jaqua’s “goal”. where i sit, i can see when someone is offside. he wasn’t too far off, but he was visibly off.
-paul allen chipping in. did you not know that paul allen is a shareholder in your club? wouldn’t that make it a conflict of interest? isn’t it sad that so many of your fans know so little about your club?
-”Please somebody help me find something Seattle has gotten wrong.” how about throwing punches because someone was taunting them? how about trying to fight security and police? throwing smoke bombs onto the pitch is no big deal, right? hell, throwing smoke bombs in general. maybe even knowing that you have your own designated section for your own safety, and wandering into areas populated by opposing fans? maybe that one’s not wrong, but it sure isn’t smart if timbers fans are such bad people.

fact is, time and time again, the timbers and the timbers army has shown that we can perform and display ourselves with more class than seattle.

but i am still going to stick to my guns on this… if the ref didn’t think he was hurt, play could have continued. the keeper obviously didn’t know the rules.

and the 5+ minutes more than made up for it.
