WooHOO!! We’re Going to the Playoffs!!!!!!
By: Laurie | October 17th, 2009UPDATE from Seattle Times:
Sounders FC, I am told, is scheduled to arrive at SeaTac Airport at 11:35 a.m. Sunday. I believe its Midwest Airlines.
And just like that, we become the first expansion team since 1998 to make the playoffs.
What an amazing season.
More later.
You know. After I’ve watched the game. Which I of course couldn’t watch as it was happening given that as we all know I can’t watch away games on TV without jinxing them.
This was my little sacrifice for you, boys, for all you’ve given me and my family during a season that has been personally kind of tough.
You’re welcome.

Congrats on making the playoffs Seattle! Now that you’re in, we here at the Toronto FC Offside would really appreciate if you could beat Dallas for us next week to help in our cause…

Mark, we home fans deserve a win. With lots of goals. We’ll see what we can do for you.

I’ll be the first to admit i thought there was no way we would pull out 3 points after they went up 2-1. My gosh, that pass from Ljungberg was amazing. Assist of the year in my book. And since Jaqua put away the winning goal, I guess I’ll have to stop hating on him for about a week. Man of the Match? Ljungberg

Also, I think based on Dallas’s slimy performance in the US Open Cup a couple of years back, we absolutely need to knock them out of the playoffs and give TFC a shot.

I had to share this bizarre/cute/funny video I found on youtube just now, it features Seba discussing the various meanings of the word ‘flick’ — ??? I know! (It makes more sense after you watch it.)

Oh yeah, PLAYOFFS!!!!!! I had to turn the channel during extra time, my stomach was flipping around and I couldn’t stand the suspense. My first thought, as I hit the channel button on the remote, was, “I bet Laurie isn’t watching this either.” hahaha.

Thanks for my first laugh of the morning, Kristi. Not only was I not watching, I realized that I have this whole RITUAL for not watching.
First I turn on the TV downstairs. Then I go upstairs. Nobody is allowed to switch the channel, but they’re also not allowed to tell me what’s happening. Then I go downstairs at the end of the half to check the score. But not TOO much before the end of the half.
Last night before second half ended i realized my son had switched it to Comedy Central and nearly went into a panic. Switched it back, saw the 3-2 in stoppage and left the room again. Came back just in time to see the post-game celebrations.
But otherwise I am so NORMAL!!
